Centerbase 2.0 - Centerbase

Objective

Centerbase is law firm management software targeting midsize (1-50 employees) law firms. At the time of development over 400 law firms used the application worldwide and had been in development for 6 years. Centerbase focuses on case management, contact management, accounting, billing, reporting and document management toolsets. I was the first designer to be brought into the company and was tasked with creating the Centerbase 2.0 experience.
Problem & Design Goals
Centerbase has the potential to deliver significant value across a diverse user base. Through detailed analytics and user interviews, it became evident that while lawyers themselves were infrequently engaging with Centerbase, their support staff were the primary users of the software. Lawyers continued to rely on multiple applications for their work, as Centerbase primarily functions as a firm house keeping tools. The objective was to enhance the experience for both lawyers and their staff by transitioning to Centerbase 2.0 as a one-stop shop for their law firms.
